Here are examples of what some fake antivirus’s look like. If you ever see a window popup that doesn’t look like your current antivirus warning you of infection you should not click on anything and just power down your computer with the power button.

Test Your RAM

If you install new RAM or your computer is exhibiting symptoms that might point to bad RAM you should follow these steps.

Download an ISO of Memtest here
Burn the ISO to a CD. If you do not have a CD burning program use this program
Restart your computer with the memtest CD in your drive. The computer should boot from it and show a blue screen.
If you computer continues into windows you may have to press a key for your computer to boot from a CD
Wait for memtest to report that it has completed more than one pass. If there are no errors reported below hilighted in red then your RAM has passed the test.

Please Note:

Memtest is not 100% conclusive but its close.
Errors will show up in red in the bottom half of your monitor
